Round-the-world Print
This work developed from a journey around the world on an unknown itinerary. In December 2012 I left home to travel to the other side of the world - Bermuda Island; the only destination I was to know on the 3 week journey. I was interested in finding about traveling without knowing; without knowing the mode of travel, the pace, direction, the stops or even which hemisphere the journey would take me through. Along the way I documented the experience through the inherently tactile process of frottage. A meter a day I recorded a collection of lines that gathered to form the round-the-world print; a continuous 30 meter reverse frottage.
This project was partially funded by a research and development grant from the Department of Culture and the Arts.
