1:1 Airplane
In mid 2015, as a recipient of an Australia Council grant, I travelled to Arizona to undertake a project in an aircraft boneyard - a desert site where aircraft are stored and decommissioned. The desire to work with stationary and dismantled airplanes led from my previous research into global mobility, leisure travel and the unknown.
This project allowed me to have open access to numerous airplanes and resulted in a series of photographs and large-scale works on paper created through the rudimentary yet complex process of frottage.
